Telemonitron manufactures a variety of remote sensing IoT (Internet of Things) devices, including flood sensors, asset monitors, etc. as well as remote actuators including isolated lighting system controllers.

It is important that the locations of these devices be precisely defined during their physical installation. In order to facilitate this process, each monitor is equipped with a sticker displaying a unique QR code. One function of this app is to read the QR code, use the phone’s current location as calculated by its GPS feature, and then relay this information to the Telemonitron cloud. In order for the information to be correct, the app must be used at the same location where the sensor is being installed.

The other main function of the app is to allow the user to easily observe the status of each device in the field, i.e. alerts, operational status, location on map, etc. The particular type of device can be selected amongst the list of all device types registered to that particular user.

Prerequisite: the user must first be registered with the panamonitor.com dashboard tool, which is the desktop facility used to display current and historical sensor data. See www.telemonitron.com for more details.

Permissions required: location information, camera

USE:

1. Run the app.

2. For first time users and users who may have logged out, it is necessary to login first. Insert user name and password. The app will continue to normal operation.

3. If a Watchlist of devices has already be define by the user, these will be shown on opening screen, along with a map indicating their locations. User can search for any particular device on the Watchlist by using selected parameters.

4. User can select Menu on top left to select any of a multitude of functions, similar to desktop version, including device type (e.g. Gully, Asset, Crack, etc.), alerts, maintenance status, inventory, and more. User can select the interface language too. The main general function is the item called “Device status” which summarises the status of all devices of the selected type registered to that particular user.

5. To install a new device, or to update a device’s location, first make sure the correct device type is selected. Then, under “Device status” select the “+” button, after which several options are presented. The usual option is QR scanning, where the first step is to identify the device concerned. Once this is completed, the user is presented with two options: either to install a new device, or to update the location of an already installed device.
